We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Agricultural Advisor to join our team at our wastewater treatment works based in Davyhulme. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining proactive relationships with farmer customers, supporting and advising on the benefits of sludge and related farming practices. You will have responsibility for the development and maintenance of the landbank and agricultural outlets as well as the recycling of wastewater, water sludges and other products.
What will you focus on?
You will need to ensure that there is sufficient land available, within your given geographical area, to enable compliant recycling of products. You will also promote products to farmers by offering excellent customer service and advising on regulatory application rates, sludge, nutrients and soil analysis. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with company codes of practice as well as all legislative and regulatory standards, monitoring DEFRA web sites and liaising with the Environment Agency.
What do you need?
To succeed in this role you will have substantial experience in agriculture or associated industry and be FACTS qualified/ trained or equivalent. You will have a fundamental understanding of farming practices in the UK, including the crop types and markets of the main crops in the North West; and a sound knowledge of the regulations and codes of practices that surround recycling as well as Computer competence (especially familiarity with GIS, Microsoft Word and Excel, databases and SAP.) You will have excellent negotiating skills and be comfortable dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
