The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research.
The Trust comprises of four hospitals – the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton Hospital in Banbury.
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, innovative and resourceful person to join the Oxfordshire Wheelchair Service as an administrator supporting the Wheelchair Maintenance Service that is based on Pony Road in Cowley. To fulfil this role you must be an excellent communicator, well organised, self-motivated and able to work well on your own initiative and as part of a team.
The main responsibilities of the post are as follows:
• Provide comprehensive administrative support to wheelchair maintenance service staff, acting as the first point of contact between service users and the maintenance service.
• Co-ordinate the diary, and schedule availability of all technical staff in relation to service user-related work and liaise with service users to agree a mutually convenient appointment time.
• Be responsible for supporting accurate data entry into the Oxfordshire Wheelchair Service specialist database, ensuring that information is up-to-date and an accurate and full history is recorded for all service users and the equipment they have on issue.
• Receive goods-in arriving at the maintenance service, processing the required paperwork and storing goods in the appropriate place.
You will be an efficient multi-tasker and have the ability to work well under pressure and achieve tight deadlines. A good standard of general education and highly developed computer skills are vital and previous experience of working in a healthcare setting would be an advantage.
