Maintenance Works Officer (Band 6)
Ashford and St Peters Hospital
A vacancy has arisen for a Maintenance Works Officer with an Electrical, Mechanical or Building background. This role will improve Estates ability to support our clinical services and make a real difference.
Suitable knowledge of Sterile Services and Decontamination equipment would be welcomed. Ability to undertake the duties of Authorised Person (decontamination) as detailed in HTM01 -01 part B would be advantageous to the applicant.
Applications are welcomed from suitably experienced candidates to carry out the duties of a Maintenance Works Officer. Duties include prioritising, allocating and reviewing day to day repairs and planned preventative maintenance in order to meet deadlines and quality standards. You will identify training gaps, control our data management and liaise with internal customers and external suppliers at every level. The successful applicant will have a blend of interpersonal, organisational and technical skills.
Having served a recognised apprenticeship or similar, you will bring a sound knowledge of building services, broad appreciation of health and safety issues and proven ability to lead by example. The successful applicant will be based at St Peters but will be expected to work cross site as directed by the Estates Manager.
A supervisory qualification would be an advantage as well as a background in a healthcare environment. The post holder will also be expected to undertake Authorised Person duties following appropriate training.

It is anticipated and desirable that the post holder will undertake additional training and attend courses if deemed necessary.
