We currently have a vacancy for a Security Officer in our ISO Guarding Gold award-winning team, who has a keen desire to develop their skills to ensure the safety of our staff, patients and visitors.
Your core responsibility will be to supply a security presence across the Trust’s 9 Hospitals – ensuring our staff, patients and visitors enjoy a safe, trouble-free environment. In addition you will have a more conventional security role in managing violence, crime reduction and car parking on the hospital site, often working closely with the police.
Sound knowledge/experience of conflict resolution skills and techniques are required for this demanding position; along with a full driving license. You will also need to have an understanding of the special nature of an NHS security service; which is to care for patients and visitors often in pain or distress.
We will provide you with accredited training opportunities from our qualified trainers, in order for you to succeed in the role. All posts will be subject to an enhanced level of disclosure (DBS check), a 10 year vetting in accordance with our ISO BS7858 9001:2008 standard, and passing our accredited Conflict Resolution and Hand Cuffing course within 2 months of engagement.
This position is a full time contract of 37.5 hours per week. The shift pattern is on a rota basis to include days, lates and nights.
The salary band for this role is £16,968 to £19,852 plus generous weekend, nights and bank holiday enhancements.
