An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mental Health Practitioner with a qualification in Nursing, Social Work or Occupational Therapy to join the Barking and Dagenham Access Assessment and Brief Intervention Team. The post holder will be working within a dynamic and friendly multi-disciplinary team.
Applicants will have at least 2 years’ experience of working within a community mental health setting and will possess excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills as well as evidence based knowledge of working with people suffering from initial mental health problems and also those with recurring mental health problems.
You will be working as part of our multi-disciplinary team and will coordinate the assessment of people referred to the service who are experiencing a change to their mental health. This will include consideration of the carers needs. The service provides in addition to diagnosis and treatment and signposting. There is the opportunity to work with clients over brief periods of time..
We require good IT skills and knowledge of using electronic recording systems.
You will work closely within a multi disciplinary team and other agencies to deliver focused health and social care interventions that includes managing Risk and the Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide managerial supervision to junior colleagues, mentor MDT students and participate in on-going educational forums.
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
At NELFT we set very high standards to ensure we provide quality services. We require prospective employees to carry out an online literacy and numeracy test, equivalent to NVQ Level 2. This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £3,553 to a maximum of £4,528).
