An opportunity has arisen for a number of full time surgical administrative positions. The successful applicants will be required to work 37.5 hours per week Monday –Friday.
The key function of the role is to provide comprehensive knowledge and skills in the booking, processing and in patient management of patients throughout the surgical department.
Key tasks include but are not limited to: extensive knowledge and working with the IT system, ensuring smooth management of patients throughout their pathway, efficient booking, prepping and booking patients into pre assessment and onto surgical lists, updating patient records, requesting and tracking notes, liaising with other sites and trusts, working with the performance targets ensuring that these are achieved. Therefore, you must be able to prioritise, work to tight deadlines and perform under pressure. You will need to be IT literate as much of the role involves using different IT based trust systems, although full training will be given. Attention to detail and good customer service are also essential because you will be dealing with patients and people from different levels across the whole trust.
The roles reports directly to patient access lead and will support the administration across 3 sites, Romsey, Hythe, SGH and Lymington and whilst it will be busy, the challenge of supporting this essential service is highly rewarding. As such, you will need to be a team player and possess good interpersonal skills.
